Katie
This evening we went to the national velodrome in Manchester to watch the World Cup Cycling. It's 4 years since the last time it was held here, and that time we were riding high and winning everything!
This time was a little different, with a much younger team and far fewer medals.
The most exciting event of the evening was the women's omnium. Katie Archibald, who is the current World Champion, proudly wore her rainbow jersey and was lying in fourth position after 2 events. She then won the elimination race, which was thrilling, but lost out to American Jennifer Valente in the final sprint of the final points race. So she had to settle for a silver medal.
We also got a silver in the men's scratch race with Jonathan Mould, and qualified for the gold medal race tomorrow in the men's team pursuit which I am really looking forward to.
Time for bed now. Goodnight all.
