Late Afternoon Light in Our Backyard

The temperatures have been falling, and they were expected to drop into the teens F overnight. It was a fine day not to go anywhere. So we did just that. I never left our property. In fact, I only went outside to take pictures of the backyard. I spent much of my day tucked away under the covers with a good book and a cat. :-)

This is the view looking into Gremlin's Meadow and the trees behind it late in the day, with the sun riding low on the horizon, getting ready to set. I can't say I like the fact that there is so much dark time now; but the colors, oh the colors . . . And with a view like this, why would we need to go ANYwhere?
