A Breath of Fresh Ayr

(See what I did there?!!)

Dumfries House Lodge was a delight and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay there.  The staff were all first class and we had a most delicious meal in the Woodlands Restaurant for our Anniversary dinner and an excellent Full Scottish Breakfast this morning.  

However, it was very hot in the Lodge, in spite of turning off the radiators in our room, so we left just after breakfast and headed to the coast at Ayr, where we drew in lungfulls of fresh cold sea air:-)  Very, very cold sea air - which is why the beach is deserted!!  Don't let the blue sky fool you as there was ice on the car this morning and a heavy frost:-)

We meandered by car up to Prestwick and then headed back across country to Bannockburn, where we had a light lunch, passing Loudon Hill on the way.  I blipped this last time in heavy mist, so have put in an extra today of the hill in bright sunshine.

Home again late afternoon and Simba collected from the cattery.  Time now to settle down to watch this evening's viewing of Strictly.  Hope to catch up with you all tomorrow, as next week is going to be quite hectic:-)
