Inverness and the Beauly Firth, near the end of cold and showery day. Flood tide, and the outflowing fresh water from the River Ness is being pushed up into the Beauly Firth.
There was sheet ice in places on the backroads this morning, obscured by some rain on top. Was lucky to notice it, and not come a cropper, on the cycle over to Avoch's Post Office. Wee box of fun collected, along with a tub of fire cement - the Post Office is also a hardware come general store, with all kinds of stuff, in various rooms. Always worth a nosey about. Noted loads of calendars and seasonal cards that seemed to have been created by a local photographer, or photographers.
