Cunningly, the quickest way to the supermarket is now though the shopping centre so I was back in there again today. It is decorated with all sorts of whimsy – pictures and quotes – from Alice in Wonderland including: 
'Curiouser and curiouser' (of course)
and: 'Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast'
(though not, I notice:
'How do you know I’m mad?' said Alice.
'You must be or you wouldn’t have come here.' )

Even so, I wasn't expecting two fishermen to stride in and sit at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party seat.
