Duck visitors

Sunday morning and Mrs Mummy Duck wanders up our driveway with her 12 little ones.
I've seen her once in our street recently and thought that she'd done well to have such a large brood survive those early days from hatching. We often have ducklings around in the Spring but with dogs and cats also around their survival is never guaranteed.

She herded them right up to our front door, setting Lottie and Banjo off barking. They were behind the fence luckily.

Ella and I gave them some cornflakes ( not sure if that was ok for them, I know bread is not good) and then tried to herd them back down the driveway.

Ella's birthday today too, 17 years old which none of us can believe including her!
Out for dinner tonight to celebrate.
