Candle in the wind

I'm going to write about poppies and remembrance, but not today. I don't want to offend anyone.

But, my grandfather was a regular before WW1, an Old Contemptible in France. He won the MM at the 2nd Battle of Arras. My parents (94 and 92), both served in WW2, my father in law was a National Servicemen in Korea. My cousin's husband was drafted to fight in Vietnam with the Australian infantry. My son did one tour in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan.
