Door to the sky

Went to the Ballet matinee today…..Her Story: 3 pieces by women… Twyla Tharp, Jessica Lang and Crystal Pite.    Looked at the info on the web about them and saw that Jessica Lang’s “Her door to the sky” marks the centennial celebration in 2017 of Georgia O’Keefe’s first solo exhibition in New York.  This dance is inspired by O’Keefe’s Patio door Series that she painted between 1946 and 1956.. I was unfamiliar with that series ( a few are here.)but was thinking about it on our walk this morning.   This is my Pacific Northwest version, just for fun.  Note the construction in front of this new “house that Jack built” in our neighborhood.

The best dance by far was “Plot Point” by Crystal Pite…I think there is no middle ground, you either love it (it will take some cogitating on however) or hate it.   We both loved it.
