I can't believe.....

we are not singing this chorus! It is so beautiful.
But, it is one of the ones that is cut from the performance.  Quite a hard rehearsal this evening. Bach does write a lot of notes. Whilst he is an amazing composer, I don't think he was a singer as there is rarely anywhere to breathe. A minor detail! So it's a case of staggering the breathing so the audience hears a seamless sound whereas, in reality, we are breathing all over the place. I have developed a technique of keeping my mouth in exactly the right shape for what I should be singing, but taking a breath at the same time.
The Christmas Oratorio is a superb piece of music and I love singing it. Next term is not so appealing...... Vaughan Williams!?
