Dalek O'Briain
Same workstation as my previous Blip, but instead of engraving it is Dalek maintenance.
A recent bout of Robot Wars enjoyment reminded Jnr Jnr that there are some battle Daleks in the house from a few Christmases ago, so she wanted a battle with me. However, one was not moving at all well: the battery casing was completely crusty with acid discharge, but even after a clean it wasn't at all dinky. I then caught sight of the cause - a problem far worse than stairs to our syllabic-speaking enemies.......hair!
Trundles on carpets and in the girls' rooms had culminated in axles that had significant amounts of long, blond hairs and so speed was affected (no wonder the Doctor always gets away), and one was not able to reverse at all.
So in true Robot Wars fashion, I got them into the pits and had just two hours to get them ready in order to not having to forfeit. It was tight, and the green army one was a right challenge as I had to totally disassemble the motor compartment, but after a further change of power units (er, AAA batteries) they were both good to go.
ROBOTEERS......READY.........
