Remembering...

....a good turnout of Broughton Scouts for the annual remembrance day parade with the Royal Legion Pipe Band. The locum minister delivered an extraordinary service based on the parable of the wedding feast, which had the pew-sitters looking at each other quizzicaly as we struggled to make sense of its relevance to the moment. Eventually, his reverendness brought it all together cleverly, but not before he explained the importance of marriage consummation to our tittering younglings. Fortunately, this was the coup de grace to the service and I was more than pleased to be outside, marching with the pipe band down Rodney Street in the beautiful winter sunshine.

I'll remember that service for a very long time.
