Wood

I love wood - this vase was given to me for my birthday. It is Ash but has presumably been coloured as it is a deep red-brown. What I like particularly is the fact that it has not been heavily waxed or varnished. It is smooth but the grain can still be felt and is clearly visible. The artist has shaped the vase sympathetically to accentuate the pattern of the grain. It is 6 inches high and 5 inches wide at the base.
