New life

After losing my old cotinus (smoke tree) late last year (or was it early last year? I so lose track of time these days) I bought a new one this autumn.  It's sat patiently on the back deck through a leafless winter, sprung into life in the spring and was begging to be planted before summer takes a strong hold.  

I had to remove the old stump before I could even think about planting it - that was fun! - but remove it I did and so now, the new boy is planted and ready to grow.  

Caught the late afternoon sun glowing through one of the fresh new leaves........seemed like a good starting point to chronicle it's growth......or just simply enjoy.
