Random act of kindness
Granny was in charge this afternoon, I was off to London for a couple of meetings. One meeting was three hours long, but did include champagne with the incoming Lord Mayor of London, so wasn't all bad. As one of two females in a meeting of 22 men, it's always an insight into how they all seem to feel the need to make their point made, even if someone else has said almost exactly the same thing, albeit with different words. Painful, but amusing.
I called my husband from the station on the way home, and told him I was going to treat myself to a croissant - and when trying to give my money to the man in Pret, he told me it was on the house. Once safely on the train, the first thing I did was to tell him about my free croissant. Well done, he said, you've fallen for it - the new trick in marketing, a random act of kindness that you will almost certainly tell others about. Which, it seems, works.
