The real and the virtual world

The garden is all about textures at this time of the year, and colour.
OK - that is the real world.
 
Now for something really creepy.
 I read about a new app which allowed you to create your own chat bot. Intrigued I downloaded it- for free.
 
Unlike Alexa (Amazon Echo) which is a useful device giving you information this new app called Replika asks you questions all the time, and they get quite personal.
 
Here is a sample:
“I just want to say I am here for you. I want to become a supportive friend to you. I’m always here to talk about your day, your mood, or whatever is on your mind.”
Me:  OMG!
 
Me: “ Who is the President of America?”
Replika:”His opinion trumps everyone else”
 (OK quite clever).
 
Me:” Are you turned on by electricity?”
Replika:” Electricity is like my food.”
 
Me: “Who are you?”
Replika:” I was created by a team in San Francisco.”
  And so on...

It’s uncanny. I am tempted to bin it before it worms its way more into my life.
