Ruling the Roost

Next door neighbours are away so we are looking after their chickens. Honestly, it's a bigger commitment than looking after children - at this time of year they get fed 3 times a day!

There's a cockerel and 11 hens, not much egg laying going on at present - lucky to get two or three a day at the moment, though there have been as many as six. Not that I can blame them - it's feeling very cold today, only 5C earlier with rain and hail showers.
