Joe!

Joe, the baby and I went for a walk today at the Paseo del Norte Bridge. It is the most unpleasant Rio Grande crossing so far. Dirty and noisy and the bosque access is difficult. Down in the bosque it is still noisy and there was lots of trash.

We experimented with tossing sticks for Joe to fetch. Joe loves to fetch but he was disgusted by icky, dirty sticks, and after the first few fetches, he stopped even trying and just looked puzzled when I tossed the stick.

We finally made it onto the ground near the river when we chanced upon a couple behaving in an extremely inappropriate fashion for a fairly open space in a public park. Mara and I moved along quickly but Joe was thrilled and ran up to them where he promptly planted a big wet lick on the guy's face. Shrieking ensued. At that point I took off running with the baby and Joe followed. They were in no condition to follow so I think we were pretty safe. I guess it was a good lesson for someone in inappropriate behavior in public places.

Today, I give thanks for the day I was given, a warm bed, a roof, the pup and the baby.
