Makethemost

Are you sitting comfortably?

The lights went down, the chatting stopped and the cameras rolled.

This evening, I went to the flicks at Kirkgate Arts Centre to watch "Victoria & Abdul". I was hoping for the roaring MGM lion, an evocative memory from childhood, but maybe its time is past. The "Universal" logo with twinkling stars and soaring music was almost as good.

The film itself was most enjoyable. Lots of unexpected humour, lavish costumes and sets, and a stellar cast, with Eddie Izzard obviously having a fabulous time as Victoria's son, Bertie.
