Newington Cemetery
A late afternoon walk with my cousin and her mutt in Newington Cemetery, a wild, abandoned space squeezed between the railway and Dalkeith Road, one of the main roads heading south. It's the first time I have ever ventured in there. Most of the headstones seem to have been knocked flat or are completely swamped by brambles and ivy which gives it a rather desolate feeling, but there some beautiful old trees. This angel was still standing unlike her neighbour who was face down in the mud. (She looks 'armless enough, said my cousin).
