Turkey Tail
I found this multi-coloured bracket fungus growing in profusion on a dead tree on the shore of Buttermere lake this afternoon. It is known as "Turkey Tail" because of the resemblance in shape and multiple colours with the tail of a wild turkey.
Latin name: Versicolor trametes or Coriolus versicolor.
