Japanese elm leaves

I received a package today from my childhood friend Patrick that lives in northern California.  In it, he included a plastic bag with the Japanese elm leaves (from his backyard) and the straw flowers he grew himself.  What a lovely surprise along with some books, and an apple from a 100 year old orchard!  Oh, and my camera was on some setting that did something to enhance the photo.  I have no idea what happened.
