The old days
Saw this window display in a local shop today. Reminded me what the housewifes lives were like before I was born. I don't think I could have coped with the daily drudgery and effort required to be a 'good wife and mother'. I remember my mum getting me a toy metal iron to try to iron my dolls clothes. We had to heat it on the fire and use an oven glove to protect my hands. We used to have a Belfast sink in mum's first house. I've told her they're fashionable nowadays, but she doesn't believe me.
Went shopping and bought a new dishwasher. The boys will be pleased - no more 'dishes after dinner', or soggy hands. It arrives on saturday, so should be set up by the time I get home from work.
Hurray. It seems like a lifetime since the last one broke.
