Swan Song

A view from the park of the Hydro Grand hotel, which sits at the north end of the main street of Timaru.
This building is a local landmark (built ca1913), and is going to be demolished tomorrow morning.
It will be sad to see it go, but it has been a blot on the landscape for a few years now, having fallen into disrepair.
There are  plans for a multi-story structure, to be used for offices etc to be built on the site.
Mario and I are planning to photograph the demolition, so hopefully I'll have some photos of that, if we can get close enough
