Company

Shore Porters is, as you can see, a really old coompany.
Formed in the 1400’s, it started off as a company that unloaded and transported cargo from ships. Longshoremen I believe Americans call them.

It now is a removal and storage company and has been for a very long time.



It is not, however, the oldest company in Aberdeen. That title goes to Aberdeen Harbour Board.
I think it is the oldest, still running, company in the world. It came into being in the late 11200’s when King David of Scotland granted a charter to Aberdeen allowing it to become officially a city.
