Bev and Her Eva

Bev adopts rescue Bassett Hounds, only the old ones like Eva here, who loves to complain to you about her aching feet and goes on about - well, I don't know just what it is she's saying, but she really says it a lot. If you're across the street, she'll bray until you cross over so she doesn't have to talk so loud, plus she knows she'll get some scratching behind her ears.
Bev is the most patient person, ambling along extremely slowly giving her pets plenty of time to cross one sidewalk crack after another, block after block. For years she had three Bassett’s all very slowly criss-crossing in front of her In a tangle. Bev keeps up her own running commentary, and would quietly coax them into straighter lines all the while giving forth on the state of yards and the weather. Bev is also in my knitting group and lives just a block from here.
