Il n'y a rien à faire
Heard either fireworks or gunshots today, although upon closer inspection they were most definitely fireworks...but with my area you never know! Only half a joke I'm afraid, I live in Grâce de Dieu which is about 10 minutes away from the centre of Caen by tram. Every French person I have met does a little hiss of sympathy followed by the question of whether I know it's a bad area. However, after living here two weeks and walking back home on quite a few occasions in the dark, the only "problem" I have had was actually in the morning when some young boys (about 12!) asked me for my number! And I got to watch some fireworks this evening! Saying that, it is true I when I am walking back on my own in the dark, I do avoid unlit areas and keep to busy roads - but I think that is just common sense for everywhere surely?
Had another fail of a day today, I just can't shake this virus! Luckily I don't work Mondays at the moment so I don't have to worry about what I'll do for work tomorrow. Was meant to be going with Claire and Becky to La Musée des Beaux-Arts in the château. However, spent the majority of the day worrying my parents on Skype (again) followed by a more coherent chat than yesterday's with Andy (I was just too tired to form words then, only a small problem right?!) Managed to get out my apartment for an exhausting walk of around ten minutes, being ill is so annoying...
