Our Barns

A chilly, gray Fall day.  This is a view from the fields of our antique tobacco barn in the foreground and what used to be the cow barn -- now used as general storage and Mr. W's workshop -- in the distance.

Many people are surprised that Connecticut has tobacco barns, but it was quite a profitable crop at one time, and it is still grown in certain areas.  The tobacco leaves were dried and then used to wrap cigars.  You can read more about it here, if you're interested!
