Off Roading
MrsCyclops is away, but CyclopsJnr and cyclops have managed to have a full day without her!
We started with Rugby Tots at 9am, and he was a very good boy. His kicking has come on some, although he refuses to count three steps back in a way that anyone but he would recognise.
Next we met up with 77 and his kids for a bit of exploring at Almondell Country Park. We had an inauspicious start as CyclopsJnr fell off his bike full length into a goopy muddy puddle before we made it ten metres from the car. Fortunately his splash-suit stood up to the assault, and we had a spare pair of gloves to replace his sodden muddy ones. Fun was had, biking off road, playing in the park, clambering on fallen trees and hugging standing ones.
We then headed up to Dobbies for lunch, where Mrs77 joined us too. Yummy and much-needed after a vigorous morning.
After lunch, the clan 77 went about their own business and we headed over to Glasgow. CyclopsJnr napped for an hour in the car as we negotiated horrible traffic on the M8. We went to the Riverside Museum and the Tall Ship and had great fun. CyclopsJnr particularly enjoyed an ancient carriage from the Glasgow Underground (Clockwork Orange), and some kids interactive exhibits like a fire engine turntable ladder and motorbike and sidecar. We went on trams, busses, and steam engines, explored holds, foredecks and poop decks (he is now old enough to think that is funny) and rang a ships bell.
By the time we got back in the car, CyclopsJnr was happy but said "I a little bit knackered now Daddy". Nando's provided some much needed refuelling, and we're staying in a hotel at Strathclyde Country Park so we can do some more exploring of this side of the country tomorrow.
CyclopsJnr has been a very good boy, and both he and cyclops are now ready for a nice long sleep...
