To Hull and Back

Relaxing morning, then it was up and over the Lincolnshire Wolds to Hull. Parked up eventually, and discovered that the city centre was thronged with thousands of people waiting to see the final major parade of the City of Culture programme: the Green Ginger parade. Fireworks, music and animatronic giants. Then into the City Hall for Pat Metheny Quartet: first saw Pat 35 years ago, and he still had the same energy as he revisited some old classics and standards, finishing with a pointed 'This is not America'. Out, and back over the Wolds: a particularly good 25 mile stretch over the tops with not a single other car to slow me down. Home in the early hours. Picture is of a Bob and Roberta Smith artwork.
