American Goldfinch
Our male American goldfinches are now wearing their winter garb. Much less yellow than they are in the Spring and Summer. Arguably the goldfinch is the bird I see the most of day in and day out taking advantage of the birdseed offered here during the winter months. They tend to gather in large flocks. A few years ago we had masses of pine siskins flocking with them, but nary a one last year. Maybe this year...
