Superfight

Sam invited friends Jamie and James around to play ‘super fight’ as a celebration of finishing his exams.  I’ve been relegated to another room as I didn’t want to join in.

The brusque ‘case closed’ email regarding Mum on Friday is indeed as bad as it sounded.  Pass-the-buck continues.  The residential Home she is in - everyone agrees - is inadequate for her needs....despite us visiting all possibilities in the area 6 months ago, and it being an Alzheimer’s specialist home with nursing care (and costing £1,400 week).  

I’m slightly in shock but we find ourselves back in the system awaiting yet another assessment.  Actual action to help Mum on a day to day basis is so bureaucratic it's effectively non-existent, and relies entirely on my 81 year old Dad visiting daily & reminding people what to do, (and what not to do) & chasing up promised specialist appointments himself.  He seemed utterly depressed about the latest developments tonight and I needed to speak to my sister to confirm that they were really true as they were so gobsmackingly unhelpful.  

I’ve concluded that the ability to understand and navigate this bewildering system is at the very least completely exhausting, if not impossible.
