Farewell

Very limited opportunities to blip today.

While we were out with friends for a meal this evening and we saw (from the car while driving) many of the recently lit Christmas decorations in Edinburgh there was no suitable blip - or opportunity to blip!

The office was a round of meetings and phone conversations before I headed off to the funeral of a close colleague’s father.

Cameras at funerals, unlike weddings, just don’t seem appropriate - at least I don’t feel entirely comfortable using them on these occasions. But I felt I had to take this surreptitious shot to capture part of the huge turn out.

As a bereaved person on the day your mind is elsewhere particularly ahead of the ceremony and even though this is of the back of peoples’ heads it may help to remind who was there.

It was a great service conveying the essence and qualities of the man and the love and affection he had for his family and they for him. And some good and humorous anecdotes as well.
