Inundated
A wet and miserable day but we had an interesting and colourful walk this morning. We being my neighbour D and myself.
We headed to Goit Stock woods for a bit of shelter and were amazed both by the amount of colour still there in particular from the beech trees and by the height of the water in the Beck
Harden Beck runs right through the Goit Stock valley and it was immediately apparent that it was running very high.
Here the path runs very close to the edge of the water and as you can see the path has almost been completely inundated. (Have seen it worse and completely impassible but it was still a surprise)
Very muddy and slippery underfoot but the leaf colour made it all worth while.
Raining again now and I think Yeeeed's comment yesterday - has someone forgotten to turn the lights on in Yorkshire today - is most appropriate!
