Bird ID needed please

Not a very clear shot but I spotted this strange, rather large bird rustling around on the ground in the garden this morning and quickly got the camera out. It flew up onto the fence and firstly hid behind the palm tree trunk but then eventually ventured out a bit further and then took off. I became very interested to find out what it was and at first thought it was a Pheasant Coucal but I have a sinking feeling that it may be a Cuckoo of some variety, most probably a female Oriental cuckoo, although it is very hard to tell from the illustrations in the Bird book. I have put a shot of the rear view and tail in blipfolio here as it has very long and rounded tail feathers: Tail view for ID here A sinking feeling because apparently they are parasitic, prey on native birds and they lay small eggs by comparision with their own body weight so the eggs resemble their hosts' in size. Once hatched, the baby cuckoo ejects all the host's eggs and nestlings. By making begging postures and calls, the juvenile cuckoo then ensures that a constant food supply is bought by the hosts and sometimes by other birds of the same and different species. I now get the meaning of that old saying "a cuckoo in the nest"!
If anyone in Blipland has any ideas they would be most welcome.
ps - it is rather larger than the photo appears.

Edit-seems it may be a Pheasant Coucal, a cuckoo variety but one that is not parasitic (thankgoodness).
