L'ascenceur

Arcachon is quite hilly. The walk into town today from the campsite was decidedly up-and-downy. However it was a pleasant stroll through quiet roads, forest and the Parc Mauresque... which is where you may find a lift to take you down the final 25 metres into town. The exterior is a real period piece but the lift inside has been renewed. It's a free service too!
