Old 'N New

A grey Autumn day, fallen leaves decaying but look around an signs of seasons to come can be found.  Arum italicum sends up these striking, variegated leaves before Winter sets in.  As it happens, the yellowing leaves above come from a shrub already in flower, Chimonanthus praecox, Wintersweet.  Old and new side by side.

Jamie seems to have inspired Chloe to learn the violin .... she was here this afternoon with one she bought yesterday having borrowed one of Jamie's old ones on Sunday!  Later we popped in to see Grandma and Grandad, been too long since Jamie brightened their day.
