The picture has fallen off the wall
When I was in Zim my mother in law kept referring to the picture falling off the wall, which I totally didn't understand. Eventually, it was explained that by law, businesses had to have a picture of 'Uncle Bob' on the wall. So today, the picture really has fallen off the wall. Even my normally reserved, slightly 'glass is half empty' husband is sounding full of life and wondering what the future will bring - he sent me this, revelling in his delight.
Our day here was a little more mundane. Although I am proud that I got out for a run, I hatched a plan to make lunch for the boys before heading off to collect them from the childminder, and put them straight from the car into the pushchair (knowing the youngest would already be asleep) and the eldest could have lunch, quite literally, on the run. Why I haven't done this before, I don't really know, but it worked very well, which I guess means I need to do it more often.
