Tea & pastry break with the reject

I had a lovely mid afternoon break with my sweetie! This week he has been excluded from all meetings as his official replacement has assumed almost all duties - he tells me he is being rejected from meetings and projects .... hence the 'reject' title. He is there for the next 5 weeks before he retires to mentor as required. That his left him mostly to his own devices (finally! after 33 years!). He is doing email clean up, notifying peers/colleagues of his retirement and sorting through very full file drawers. He has uncovered many little treasures (eg: $400+ in savings bonds in our children's names purchased as gifts from their god parents in 1987-1990 and cashable since 2004!). It was lovely to be able sit with him downtown during work hours, for the past year he has hardly ever been able to meet me due to work deadlines/commitments. It really was a treat! Off to start my mentorship to teach aquafit tonight. Every tuesday night will be at the pool for the next while.
