Glasgow's Spitfire

Spitfire LA198 flew with 602 (City of Glasgow) Auxiliary Squadron after World War ll. It crashed on landing at the Horsham St Faith Base (Norfolk) in July 1949 and never flew with the 602 squadron again.

It returned at last to Glasgow in 1998, then spent five years at the Museum of Flight while it was restored. In 2005 Spitfire LA198 was lifted into the air in the Kelvingrove Art Galleries where it hangs from extra girders to take its weight.

The rain has been relentless today so a trip to the Art Galleries was on the cards.  It doesn't matter how often you visit there is always something different that catches your eye.

Dog walking tomorrow ..... I've got wellies but as yet I haven't seen any wee wellies for dogs. Perhaps things will miraculously dry up overnight ... that's a bit of wishful hoping!
