Got him !

I saw a Grey Heron when out for a walk this morning and tried to take its photo with my camera phone but as soon as I lifted the phone up it was off. I had no chance with the next bird I saw which was a Dipper but pleased to have seen them both.

This afternoon I was out taking a photo of the phone box at the old post office at Old Glossop - the Virginia creeper is turning red above it but a shadow over the bottom of the phone box made it a less successful photo than I hoped for.

So I walked a little further and reaching the brook there was the Heron - well a Heron. It probably was the same bird as it was less than half a mile away from this morning's encounter.
