Solitary sanderling

The rest of the massive flock of sanderling were quite a way up the beach but this one seemed quite happy on his own, taking a dip in the freezing cold water. 
The sun set as i was watching him and a ship passed in front of it at the right time, would have been rude to not take a photo :)
