Didcot

I spent most of the day travelling to and from a research lab near Didcot to discuss an unfamiliar branch of our field into which my student and I are entering. The discussion took only a couple of hours, but it's probably saved us several weeks of work. Although we might have tried to use Skype, it wouldn't have been anything like as effective since we filled two whiteboards with formulae and could refer to books and papers in the office. Of course time spent with someone I've known and liked for 20 years is also to be cherished.
