Thomas Chalmers

There is a statue to Thomas Chalmers in George Street, which acts a roundabout at its junction with Castle Street. For Edinburgh’s Christmas he has been surrounded by LED lights and it looks like a bar may be installed under a blue roof. I wonder what the eminent theologian would have thought of that?
