Abstract Thursday - Distortion

I spent ages making a fabulous coloured abstract of my simmering sugar syrup but it wouldn‘t upload - too much processing. This is taken through a glass with minimal processing. As usual, I chose an Australian recipe to cook and ended up having to be self sufficient and make one of the ingredients. It called for liquid glucose or corn syrup, neither of which were obtainable locally. After sending Hubby on a wild goose chase to the pharmacy and health shop i found a recipe for sugar syrup with cream of tartar (another search on the internet for translation and common name) which should work. Well, it did; my bitter chocolate wafers turned out a treat. Unfortunately, the rest of the syrup went clumpy when i poured it into a bottle. Not sure if i overcooked it or should have poured it into bottle while it ws still hot. Never mind, it was only sugar and water and ‚Weinstein‘. I can order it on Amazon for next time.
