Genoa sunset

It's been a long day of meetings and taking boats out but I did get away just before the sun came down to snatch this one. It's odd how you soon lose all sense of perspective at a boat show. I'd looked at a few motor yachts, all of them on the market for more than a million Euros each. So when I looked at one priced at Euros 400,000 I found myself saying the price was reasonable. It's difficult to make sense of this market. One boat maker told me they'd just delivered one of their big yachts to a Brazilian customer. Exporting to Brazil is tough because there's an 85 per cent import tax on big yachts. So the buyer had effectively paid twice to have his boat there. It's a crazy, crazy world.
