Lower, lower. Nooo the    ......undercarriage!!! 

Skimming in on a chilly late afternoon the geese were up for some food.

Slightly worrying as there were only 4 Bewick swans a-swimming! I would have thought incredibly late for the migratory influx as they normally start arriving early November over wintering in a safe and comfortable place before their arduous journey 4,500km back to the Russian arctic. 

Their mysterious decline in numbers was highlighted by Sacha Dench last year who followed the migratory epic route to Slimbridge WWT. Will keep you posted on events here with fingers crossed for the hopeful influx. Maybe it's the weather systems. Lower numbers at the moment.
