Bridport Water Helmet

I've blipped the window of "Snooks the Hatters" previously, but today we ventured inside.
What a fascinating place and a great shop. As well as every conceivable type of hat, they also sell snuff, shaving brushes, snake belts, waistcoats, moustache wax, pipe paraphernalia, and all sorts of other clothes and accessories for discerning gentlemen. Ladies are not excluded - there is an adjoining shop with hats for ladies, but we didn't get as far as that.
This is the Bridport Water Helmet. The best way that I can describe it is actually not to describe it - but please read the text on my extra to find out all about it. The fact that it was "invented" on 1st April 1904 says it all really. 
I may or may not have purchased a hat whilst we were in there............
