Late Flyer

A butterfly fluttering around on the 17th November seems very unusual for me, but we are in the SW of England so maybe weather this warm isn't so remarkable.
We arrived yesterday evening and Mike was amazed to see us.  We have had thirty-something years of distance communication since we last met face-to-face and our visit was arranged by his wife without his knowledge. Surprise!!  As with the best friendships we just fell into talking and it all seemed very easy. We met at college and did a lot of caving and kayaking in our time there. Our younger selves would have been slightly bemused at the thought we would still be friends as we discussed retirement and pensions!!
Today Mike had a few things to do so we spent the day exploring the charity shops of Dorchester and checking out some of the sights. I took this picture on a break from the shopping when I walked a wide green area where the roman walls used to be - an old town, Dorchester!
