Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A fun day!

What a treat filled day - a new iPhone X, three games of rugby and best of all - Scotland beat Australia!

Archie and I popped down to the Apple Shop to pick up my new phone. Archie had quite a few admirers while we sat there. The charming Callum looked after us, but really, it's so slick and easy to change phones.

Back home to see Archie go off out with Becky and Daniel for an hour's fun chasing a frisbee. JR went off into town to return a pair of cords she brought me from M&S, but they had button flies instead of a zip!! Are they crazy? Buttons are a nuisance, that's why zips were invented. And buttons for folk with arthritic wrists are not ideal!

Then the Scotland/Aussie game. What a game it was! Even without Hoggie! After years of always losing, it's great how they're playing with new confidence and yes, skill. And depth - our best player pulled out at the last minute, and his replacement scored two tries! Bodes well for the Six Nations in a couple of months.

Sorry, Wales, but I was supporting the All Blacks. And I think the Pacific Islands (Samoa, Tonga and Fiji) are wonderful - for small island nations, they field world class teams in both rugby codes. And that's even with other nations snaffling some of them!

Archie came back and enjoyed watching the Wales/All Blacks game (extra). I've been holding my new phone all afternoon. Love it.

What an enjoyable day.
