Books

Books and more books! This tiny bookshop in Sheringham has 20000 books all squeezed into a maze of tiny rooms, no bigger than short hallways on the ground floor of a terraced house. We went in to buy Pillars of the Earth. A book we used to have but have searched everywhere and can't find it. It must have gone AWOL in our move. Luckily it is a book often found second hand. He even had a selection of Blue Peter annuals. That was our afternoon, plus a scout round the charity shops donating and buying.

We managed a late breakfast at Morrison's. Henry slept well but the lure of a sausage sandwich breakfast got him up. Then a look around the carpet shop as they are advertising a sale. I would really like a new carpet in the lounge, so we now have an idea of prices.

Put a few bits in the loft while Jon re-sealed the bath (Henry and I attempted it earlier in the year but it wasn't quite right so Jon has hopefully done a better job). Grass cut but no wallpapering. Hopefully tomorrow.

I cooked meatballs for tea and had a FaceTime chat with Mollie. I made apple and blackberry gin and now it is sitting in my cupboard proving, brewing or whatever gin does. A diversion from sloe gin as a change. Then I listened on iPlayer to Cambridgeshire radio show Gerald Main, as my friend Neil (last Sunday's blip) was on. He is a Cambridge City FC guru, expert, pretty much king of all things Cambridge City FC and he was interviewed. Check it out! I know some of you will (38 minutes in - I know he won't mind!)

A Saturday night in front of the tv now. Ralph has already made himself comfortable on my lap.
